I'm ill. very funny. I'm having a banana, orange juice and cough syrup for breakfast. I'm waiting for my Leica M2 to arrive and join my M4. And for the Leica CL I bought for *pluschkind yesterday.

So I'm sitting here browsing my own favourites, which is mainly abstract fizzle, beautiful women and random stuff (note to self: tidy up!) and I realise that, for a passionate street photographer, I have rather few street shots in my favourites. that led me to a conclusion I already drew quite some time ago:

it's hard to find good and worthy street stuff on dA at all!

where's all the high-quality candid pictures, the true art of street photography!

#1 a big bunch of deviants obviously haven't been told that street photography is about candid shots and situations, not posed, not just the picture of a street and not bound to some sort of street in the picture. street photography, theoretically, can happen inside a building, a museum too! (although some would call it 'candid' rather than 'street' in that case...) _{(REALLY? -really.)}

#2 way too many people seem to think that just any shot taken outside (most suitable are clochards!) with any fancy digital camera turns into cool street stuff when they desaturate it and maybe splatter some contrast on it (or don't care about the tones at all, but folks, behold: black and white isn't just black and white!). I won't even start about the coloured ones...

#3 then again, others obviously believe that every shot taken with an analogue camera is high art by nature!

#4 the deviantArt street category description is a farce, and BIG that is.

_{But what about composition? what about tones? what about a certain sensitivity and open mind when it comes to photography?}

so I rise to the challenge and will feature some 'streets' and 'candids' that deserve... what they deserve... the they-caught-my-attention... and have that... feature-deservance-... thing!
I will also consider your suggestions (famous or unknown, but it has to be GOOD stuff. NO hdr, NO colour key or selective colours), so that maybe one day this turns into a pretty little pool of what dA's street cat is actually missing at first or even second glance. (_{I'm planning to do the same pool-feature thing with abstract photography})
